After the Outdoors Show at the UK National Exhibition Centre, some of us were lucky enough to find ourselves back in Canada. And wow did spring come fast out here in the west! One friend even went as far as dusting off her bikini! Even though the winter didn't quite deliver the usual quantities of snow in the local mountains, the Nelson community are ready for a change and spring fever is in the air.
And change is in the air for Wild Earth as we get ready to take to the road and head to the Coastal Mountains to get the gear ready for the summer. (But don't worry there is still someone in the office to take your bookings!) Our gear base is in Squamish just 45 mins north of Vancouver. We'll be dusting everything off and checking the inventory for the summer adventures ahead.
Then we'll be heading over to Canmore in the Rocky Mountains. It's time to recertify the Advanced Wilderness First Aid course with our friends at Slipstream Wilderness First Aid who will be running a course in May, just in time for the summer! It is a very intensive 10 day course but lots of fun and it's always good to learn and review your skills for the mountains, rivers and oceans...also a great chance to network with other guides.
So a busy but fun few weeks ahead as the office continues to take bookings which continue to come in, despite the economic downturn. We are finding that people are certainly booking later than normal but are still keen to escape the doom and gloom for the trip of a lifetime.

Hope to see your groups in Bella Coola this summer. We always look forward to your visits to Coast Mountain Lodge and the bear viewing tours you offer.
Cheers, Fraser and Holly
